6 Such Brands That Have Common Misconceptions In Most Of Indians
As you know that we are already going through a pandemic and all of a sudden Indian people are confused about the brand's origin. Already some brands have become family’s favorite in most Indian households. Here, I will talk about which are Indian brands and foreign brands that people have been having some misconceptions about for a long time. Well, I decided to dig deeper and find out where all these originated. Here are the brands that have common misconceptions in most Indians:
1) Bata
Let’s start with the most favorite footwear brand for most of the Indians - Bata. Every Indian’s favorite footwear brand, Bata, has hoardings everywhere from big cities to small towns. That’s why I was surprised to know that it was founded in the town of Zlin, today the Czech Republic in 1894 by Tomas Bata, his brother Antonin and his sister Anna, whose family had been cobblers for generations. Its headquarters is now based in Lausanne, Switzerland.
2) Lakmé
It may sound like a foreign brand but it's not, founded by J.R.D. Tata and his wife Simone Tata in 1952. It is one of India's Most Prominent Cosmetics Brands. In 1996, Tata sold off their stakes in Lakme Lever to HUL (Hindustan Unilever Ltd.).
3) Louis Philippe
It is one of the most premium brands of India, launched in 1989 by Aditya Birla Group under the name of Madura Fashion & Lifestyle and it was named after Louis Philippe, King of the French from 1830 to 1848.
4) Reynolds
I still remember that this was my first pen after quitting from lead pencil and its iconic appearance is worth remembering because its common use in every house at that time. But do you know that it was one of the first ballpoint pens manufactured and sold in the U.S. market? It was founded by an American entrepreneur Milton Reynolds in the U.S. back in October 1945.
5) Da Milano
Today, Da Milano is one of the top fashion brands, manufacturing a maximum range of leather accessories. It was established in 1989 and founded by the father of Sahil Malik. It was started up with just one store in the market of Delhi, and presently they are proud owner of 63 showrooms out of which 61 showrooms are in India and two new showrooms in Middle East and planning to launch another 10 in Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia and reach the American market, under the control of Sahil Malik's Da Milano Group.
6) Bira 91
It is a home-brewed craft beer brand founded by Ankur Jain under B9 Beverages company in early 2015 before that, he started his first beer venture in 2008; which was importing traditional craft beers from Europe and US to India. Keep in mind always, Alcohol consumption is injurious to health!!
